Michelle Waters

MC, RCC

You’ve been working very hard for a very long time.  For many of those years, it felt like you had a handle on things.  You knew there was stuff you might want to deal with, but you had it managed.  Yet, that’s not how it feels now.  Now you feel like you can’t cope the way that you used to.  Everything feels like it’s too much.  This isn’t where you want to be in life.  You’d really like things to change.

In order to reach the deeper parts of the brain where your habits and methods of self-protection lie, we have to use a tool that goes beyond just talking about it.   Lifespan Integration (LI) is the gentle method which allows us to make those changes.  It works by creating new neural pathways, allowing you to overcome your past and move forward with your life.  LI helps you finally become yourself.  LI is effective for anyone with anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, neglect, and even for people who simply feel that they have never been themselves and aren’t sure how to get there.

Perhaps you have specific memories that you just can’t shake.  You might have worked hard yourself or with another type of therapy to just put it behind you, and yet you still have flashbacks, fears that feel irrational, and increasing levels of stress and anxiety.  You might feel confused about why you persistently feel so unloveable when nothing particularly awful happened.  You might relate to most of my clients who feel like they just can’t move forward in life, can’t make the changes they want to make, and feel like they are constantly out of steam.  It is possible to reset, to rest and restore so that you have energy and clarity again.

I also specialize in eating disorders.  These have also been hugely shamed and treated with quick fixes by medical professionals, mental health professionals, and the broader culture.  Now we know so much more about the science of the brain and metabolism so that we can treat eating disorders more effectively and with more dignity and respect.  Effective treatment is hard work, and it’s also within reach.

Does this resonate with you? I offer a free 15-minute online consultation so that we can decide if we’re a good fit.

  • I am a dual citizen with a multicultural family.  While I only celebrate Thanksgiving once a year, my mother-in-law pokes my turkey with a chopstick to see if it's done.  She's never wrong.  And yes, I can play Mahjong.  I also climb and play cello, but not at the same time.

I have always had a deep curiosity towards people and a desire to discuss what is real— even if it’s painful or hard. I think this is what led me into the counselling profession. Walking alongside another human to witness their deepest joys and sorrows is a privilege that I do not take lightly. I am honoured each time an individual chooses to develop a trusted relationship with me.
